Built around the moisture problems Mexican processors need to solve.

Mexican processors often need to increase line throughput, stabilize final moisture, protect product quality, improve storage, prepare feed or biomass, reduce energy wasted on excess water, or convert wet process streams into stable products and usable co-products.

How is the dryer selected? The drying basis is developed from feed rate, inlet and target moisture, evaporation load, thermal sensitivity, particle or sludge characteristics, available heat source, emissions and dust-handling needs, automation, site requirements and downstream use. Representative material can also be evaluated through Gem Drytech’s Dried & Tested pilot program before final equipment selection.

Where Mexican plants lose value when moisture stays in the process.

Across seafood, grain, pulse, food, feed, forestry, fertilizer, chemical and mineral processing, excess or inconsistent moisture can restrict throughput, increase energy and handling burden, reduce product value and make downstream operations harder to control.

Agave / Fibre

Wet agave fibre is difficult to store and reuse consistently.

Agave bagasse and similar fibrous residues can retain significant moisture after extraction or distillation.

Drying objective: stabilize the fibre around the intended fuel, feed, fibre or recovery route.
Corn / Grain

Moisture variation creates storage and product-consistency risk.

Corn, sorghum, wheat and other cereal streams may require a narrow moisture range for storage, milling, blending or packaging.

Drying objective: achieve repeatable final moisture while protecting product quality.
Fruit / Vegetable

Seasonal pomace can become a handling bottleneck.

Fruit and vegetable pomace, peel and pulp can accumulate rapidly during processing campaigns.

Drying objective: convert a wet seasonal stream into stable fibre or recoverable feedstock.
Feed / Pet Food

Product moisture affects shelf stability and pellet quality.

Animal feed, pet food and aquafeed need controlled drying to support texture, flowability, coating and packing.

Drying objective: achieve stable final moisture at the required production rate.
Biomass / Agro Residues

Wet biomass lowers useful energy and limits densification.

Fibres, husks, crop residues and other biomass can arrive with highly variable moisture before pelletizing, briquetting or combustion.

Drying objective: deliver stable moisture for dependable downstream performance.
Chemical / Fertilizer

Residual moisture can cause caking, agglomeration or off-spec product.

Powders, crystals, salts, fertilizer and agrochemical materials may require controlled thermal exposure and defined final moisture.

Drying objective: select the dryer around particle behaviour, corrosion, dust, temperature limit and throughput.
Mining / Minerals

Wet concentrate and filter cake increase handling burden.

Mineral streams can be abrasive, dense and variable, requiring robust solids handling and dependable evaporation capacity.

Drying objective: reduce moisture to the specification required for transport, storage or downstream processing.
Plant Throughput

The existing dryer can become the production bottleneck.

Long batch cycles, limited heat transfer or poorly matched equipment can cap output even when other process equipment has spare capacity.

Drying objective: engineer residence time, heat input, airflow and material movement around the required line capacity.

Prove the drying basis before committing to the machine.

01

Dried & Tested pilot validation

Representative material can be trialed to establish drying behavior, target moisture, residence time and a practical scale-up basis before final equipment selection.

02

Material-first dryer selection

Band, paddle, rotary, fluid-bed, tray and other dryer types are considered according to the material rather than forcing every application into one machine.

03

Energy-conscious process design

Airflow, heat input, recirculation and residence time are engineered around the evaporation load and available plant utilities.

04

Continuous industrial throughput

Systems can be configured for continuous production where batch drying creates labor, consistency or capacity limitations.

05

Mexico plant integration

Feeding, conveying, drying, cooling, controls, electrical supply, utility interfaces and downstream equipment are evaluated as one process.

06

Compliance planning from the design stage

Applicable electrical, machinery, fire, gas, pressure and food-hygiene requirements can be reviewed early so the project conformity path is defined before shipment.

From moisture problem to a validated drying basis.

Before equipment size and commercial scope are fixed, we establish what must be evaporated, how the material behaves, what utilities are available, what the dried product must achieve and which Mexican requirements apply.

Industrial dryer questions Mexican plants ask before they buy.

These are the points plant, operations, engineering, sustainability and procurement teams typically need to establish before selecting an industrial dryer.

What Mexican industries can GEM Drytech support with industrial drying systems?

We work across food and beverage, agave and distilling, corn and cereals, fruit and vegetable, coffee and cocoa, sugar, animal feed, pet food, aquafeed, seafood, brewing and ethanol, biomass, pulp and paper, chemicals, fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, mining, minerals and ceramics.

Can GEM Drytech test our material before we invest in a full-scale dryer?

Yes. Through our Dried & Tested pilot program, representative material can be evaluated to establish drying behaviour, operating conditions and a practical design basis before final equipment selection.

Can the dryer be designed around our required final moisture and production rate?

Yes. Through our Dried & Tested program, representative material can be evaluated to establish drying behaviour, operating conditions and a practical design basis before final equipment selection.

What heating sources can be used for a Mexican industrial dryer?

Depending on the application, systems can be engineered around steam, thermal oil, electricity, hot air or flue gas, waste heat, heat pumps and other suitable heat sources. The preferred option is evaluated against product sensitivity, utility availability, compliance scope and operating cost.

Can GEM Drytech dryers be configured around applicable Mexican NOM requirements?

Yes. Depending on the project, the engineering package can be developed around applicable requirements including NOM-001-SEDE-2012 for electrical installations, NOM-004-STPS-1999 for machinery safeguards, NOM-002-STPS-2010 for fire safety, NOM-020-STPS-2011 for applicable pressure equipment, NOM-002-SECRE-2010 for natural-gas installations, NOM-029-STPS-2011 for electrical-maintenance safety, NOM-251-SSA1-2009 for food hygiene, and NOM-003-SCFI-2014 where covered electrical products fall within its scope.

Is every GEM dryer automatically NOM certified?

No. A complete industrial dryer should only be described as certified to a specific Mexican requirement when that specific equipment and scope have completed the required conformity assessment. Depending on the project, the route may involve certified components, verification of an installation, product certification or another applicable conformity-assessment process.

What applies to the dryer electrical installation in Mexico?

NOM-001-SEDE-2012 addresses electrical installations (utilization). The dryer package should therefore be coordinated with the customer’s plant electrical design, supply conditions, protection, grounding, wiring and applicable verification requirements.

What applies to machine guarding and safety devices?
